POP-UP PARADISES

Today I'll be featuring another Argentinean artist, Manuel Ameztoy. He was born in La Plata, Argentina, he has done a

large number of succesfull artistic instalations in the country and abroad, his most notabel work are surelly "Las Fuentes

del Nilo" (2011) and "Cortar y Pegar" that he made for Fundacion PROA  (one of Argentinas most respected art

institutions). In this las work he also explores Fretwork as in "Paraisos Desplegables" (Pop-Up Paradises) his latest

work that  its now at the  Faena Art's Center.

Paraisos Desplegables  is a site Specific Installation of 630 square m, made of synthetic and artificial textiles that have

been cutted by hand. The exhibition is inspired in the landscapes of Entre Rios, the  province were the artist currently

live, wich has a very humid climate that results on a very varied vegetation, this is  important  because the exhibition is

very jungle like, the fabric is coming from the ceiling and you feel in some kind of forest's. As I already mention the

inspiration is nature so he made each fretwork unique but also using within the same piece a pattern that he would

repeat, rotate and also mirrored. The result is  beautiful, if you are  in Buenos Aires right now you shouldn't miss it.

Following the picture there is a video  of the artist talking(it's  in Spanish) but you can also see the dimensions of the

sculptures and and texture that one cannot appreciate in the pictures,
